About Us

What is H.O.S.T.?
H.O.S.T., which stands for "Helping Others Sleep Tonight," is a dedicated collective of community members hailing from local churches and the surrounding areas. This compassionate group has united with the common goal of extending assistance to fellow citizens who find themselves experiencing homelessness or navigating the challenges of the working-poor status within our society.

About Us
We proudly operate as a 501c3 non-profit organization, committed to making a positive impact on our community.
Our mission at HOST is to combat homelessness in the westside communities of Stanislaus County. We rely primarily on the generosity of private donors and the support of local churches to fund our vital initiatives. With the invaluable assistance of the City of Patterson, we were able to acquire our building, which serves as the heart of our operations.

Since we first opened our doors in 2013 at the 405 S. 4th Street facility, the HOST House has been instrumental in assisting more than 28 individuals in transitioning from life on the streets to secure permanent housing.

Our Biblical Statement
Our Biblical Mission Statement is based on the teaching of Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew 25:34-40:

Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you come to me.'

Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and came to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me - you did it to me.'
